A dental crown is a custom-fitted, permanent restoration designed to fully encase a damaged tooth above the gumline. First Visit - Tooth Preparation & Planning
After numbing the treatment area, Dr. Harouni prepares the natural tooth by clearing away any active decay and reshaping the enamel to create a stable foundation for the crown. Next, an impression is captured and sent to our premier dental laboratory. Dr. Harouni then places a temporary crown to protect your tooth and maintain your smile while your permanent crown is being crafted.
Your Second Visit - Final Crown Placement
Once your BruxZir crown has been hand-crafted by our lab, you will return to our office. Dr. Harouni removes the temporary crown, cleans the underlying natural tooth, and places your new permanent crown. He will check your bite alignment, make micro-adjustments for comfort and symmetry, and permanently bond the crown in place, fully restoring your tooth's strength and appearance.

While wearing your temporary crown, we recommend avoiding excessively sticky or hard foods to keep it securely in place. Once your permanent zirconia crown is bonded during your second visit, you can return to your normal eating, brushing, and flossing routine immediately.
